TOYOTA and CLEARWATER RIVER CASINO & LODGE
2016 USA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP JET BOAT RACE

The St. Maries Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Toyota and Clearwater River Casino and Lodge are the official title sponsors for the 2016 USA World Championship Marathon Jet Boat Race scheduled for May 20-29, 2016. Race teams from Canada, Mexico, USA and New Zealand will compete in the week long event.

The Inland Empire Toyota Dealers Association including Parker Toyota and Rogers Toyota Scion have been outstanding supporters of jet boat racing. “We are very excited to partner with Toyota and Clearwater River Casino and Lodge in hosting this world event. This is an amazing opportunity for Idaho to showcase the gem state with its beautiful rivers”, St. Maries Chamber President Shirley Ackerman said. The world championship race is hosted in the United States once every four years.

"As the current UIM1 World Champions, my navigator Jodi Hollingworth and I are looking forward to the worlds in Idaho this May. I know there are race teams that are putting a lot of time into their boats and expect the competition to be very strong. We have made some small changes to our boat and I will guarantee at least 4 boats will hit speeds well into the 155mph. I would like to give a big thank you in advance for all the committees and sponsors that make this possible", Canadian World Champion Rick Hollingworth said.

New Zealand race team John Derry and Brent Hefford competed in the annual Race the Joe! jet boat race in St. Maries, Idaho in May 2015. The team will return to the states to compete in the championship race this year. “I have never raced a world marathon in the U.S. and have always had it on my bucket list to do so. I have met some great U.S. friends over the years of racing all over the world and look forward to racing in their country”, Derry said.

The race will incorporate two new rivers for the marathon, the Coeur d’Alene River and the Grand Ronde River. A complete detailed schedule will be released soon.
